How to reduce the size of an image in photoshop

To share your image on the web, email, and social media you need to reduce the size of an image. Make sure your image is in RGB color mode and the resolution of the image is 72 PPI( Pixels Per Inch).

Go to the  Image menu and then select "Image size". Enable "Constrain Aspect Ratio". This image is 4000 Pixels in width, and 6000 pixels in height and the resolution is 300 PPI(Pixels Per Inch).

Change the resolution to 72 PPI. I would like to make the size of the image 700 pixels "Wide". Resample: Bicubic sharper (reduction). Click on OK.

Press “ctrl+0” on the keyboard, to fit on the screen. Click on the file menu and then save as. Save on your computer. Choose your folder to save as and file format “JPEG”. You can change the file name. Click on save. Select the quality: low, high, or maximum. We can see the file size is 627.3 KB by enabling the preview.

Let's say, we would like the image size to be less than 100 KB, We can do so. After setting the quality, click on "OK".
