Use of Lasso Tools in Photoshop

Lasso Tools in Photoshop are selection tools. Place the mouse over the Lasso Tool in the tools panel and right click then you will notice there are three Lasso Tools in Photoshop. To activate Lasso Tool, you can press L on the keyboard.

"polygonal lasso tool", "magnetic lasso tool", "lasso tool", "objection selection", "subject selection by lasso tool", "object selection by lasso tool in Photoshop", "regular lasso tool", "standard lasso tool", "objection selection by standard lasso tool";

Regular Lasso Tool

In the tools panel activate the Regular Lasso Tool. Place the mouse pointer over the Lasso Tool and right-click to choose the first one (Regular Lasso Tool). With the Regular Lasso Tool, you can draw freehand selections around an object or area in an image by clicking and dragging the mouse. It creates a loop shape. When you connect the starting point to the ending point, the area inside the loop is selected. You can add extra areas with that selected area by choosing "Add to Selection" in the options bar and dragging with the mouse. If you mistakenly selected extra areas then you can subtract those areas by choosing "Subtract from selection" in the options bar and dragging those areas with the mouse. You can copy, cut and then paste it on other documents for manipulation. Besides this, you can remove the background of the selected area.

Polygonal Lasso Tool

In the tools panel activate the Polygonal Lasso Tool. Place the mouse pointer over the Lasso Tool and right-click to choose the second one (Polygonal Lasso Tool). With Polygonal Lasso Tool you can create a polygonal or straight-edged selection by clicking around the edges of an object in an image. When you click it creates anchor points, which connect in a straight line, and continue clicking to create additional anchor points. Connect the last anchor point to the first one, creating a closed selection.

Magnetic Lasso Tool

It allows you to make selections in a freeform manner along the edges of an object in an image that has a clear contrast between the object and its background. The tool uses edge detection and magnetic properties to automatically adhere to the contours of the object you are selecting, making it easier to create precise selections around irregularly shaped objects with complex edges.

In the tools panel activate the Magnetic Lasso Tool. Place the mouse pointer over the Lasso Tool and right-click to choose the third one (Magnetic Lasso Tool). To make a selection click along the edge of the object you want to select, and Photoshop will automatically create a selection that follows the edge of the object.
